This program helps serial port communications to be extended by a TCP/IP network.
This bridge software works with serial COM port, and the communications protocols used for them. Communication requests on the COM port then could be converted and extended over a TCP/IP network connected to the same computer. There are two possible ways you could use that. One would be to simply connect to another computer even though this machine may be at distances far exceeding the serial port protocols such as RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. One device will communicate over the serial port to the local computer. This machine can be connected to a TCP/IP network working through this bridge software. The machine at the distant end would receive TCP/IP communications and translate suitably for the local COM port where the second device will be connected. A similar connectivity will let the set be merged into a TCP/IP network too.
The interface is intuitive, but not exactly simple for just about any user. You would need familiarity with TCP/IP and serial protocols to be able to set up the functions properly. You would be able to analyze TCP/IP and COM network with the built-in functions like the "Ping," "Resolve IP Address/Host Name," "COM Port State LEDs", and "Data Logging" tools and features. This program would be helpful if you are into developing communications software involving TCP and COM ports. This program is compatible with Windows platform right up to its recent versions such as 7 and 8. This software is a freeware. You could distribute it freely too, if you were to develop a product including this program. This is a good product.
